Просмотров 2,5 тыс.2 года назад
(Vídeo legendado na Renzo Gracie Online Academy.) Many people have an easy time locking the omoplata in place, but can't proceed to finishing with it. To solve this, Leandro Slaib reveals multiple adjustment details to make your omoplata unstoppable. Note the importance of stretching your legs quickly so that your opponent can't posture and escape. The plastic bag choke - 'Renzo Gracie's Guide to Submissions' course at RGOA
Просмотров 16 тыс.3 года назад
(Curso legendado na Renzo Gracie Online Academy.) The more guard players develop attacks starting from the half-guard, the more passers work on ways to block and counter-attack. It was from this logic that Renzo Gracie developed the choke dubbed the plastic bag. Note that he initially uses a simple movement to neutralize the guard player's right arm, leaving his neck vulnerable. To check out an...
Renzo Gracie: How to tailor jiu-jitsu to your body
Просмотров 8 тыс.3 года назад
(Curso legendado na Renzo Gracie Online Academy.) Although he's not very flexible, Renzo has found ways to make his guard into a nightmare. That is just one example of that fact that in BJJ, a fighter's physical traits barely matter. Note how Renzo draws attention to the fact that the same logic can be applied in one's daily challenges. Just like in BJJ, don't let yourself be foiled by a limita...
Turtle escape to half-guard - Turtle Escapes course with Leo Tunico and Rolles Gracie | RGOA
Просмотров 3,7 тыс.3 года назад
(Curso legendado em português na Renzo Gracie Online Academy.) To escape the all-fours position migrating to the half-guard, Leo Tunico controls (by the sleeve) the hand with which his opponent is trying to choke him. In parallel, he grips his opponent's pants and thus manages to follow his movement. Watch how he shrimps laterally, reaching a position transversal to his opponent's body. That's ...
X-guard sweep starting from the De la Riva - Inside De la Riva course with Christian Uflacker | RGOA
Просмотров 2,3 тыс.3 года назад
One of the most effective ways to surprise passers is to fluidly and dynamically transition between different types of guard. Note how Christian Xaropinho easily goes from the adjustments of the De la Riva into the X-guard, always staying ahead of the passer in strategic terms. The decisive moment of the transition takes place when Xaropinho wraps Leo Tunico's left leg with his right arm, gaini...
X-guard sweep from the open guard - Rafael 'Zé Triângulo' Costa | Renzo Gracie Online Academy
Просмотров 1,9 тыс.3 года назад
So your opponent opened your guard and stood up. How about making a grip on one sleeve and another on the end of their opposite pant leg? This is how Rafael Costa starts to transition to the x-guard. Note how he steps on the passer's left leg, opening space to reposition himself. The guard player's left leg momentarily wraps around the passer's right leg. The right hand goes to the collar and u...

Triangle from spider guard with Leo Tunico
Просмотров 1,8 тыс.4 года назад
Combine two or three attacks in a sequence - that is one of the secrets to making your spider guard truly efficient. In this lesson, Leo Tunico analyzes a common scenario. The guard player tries to sweep the passer, who momentarily gets unbalanced but does not fall. That does not mean the attack was useless, though. Tunico shows that in the middle of the movement, the passer made himself vulner...

I think it reaaaally depends on your gym, I did Judo for 2 years or so abd had friends that pursued it and none of them, although having high ranked color belts, is strong, confident in their abilities or very good at texhnique. And thats because we only did technique and a bit of skipping!

making it to work is really hard, as the opponent will always turn to maintain guard and you won't be able to be at an angle when you stand up with one knee. This puts you in danger of getting swept.

I started Judo at my 6 years of age and focused on it for the next 6 years. Judo helped me survive many bad situations during my school time. It helped me humble bullies 3 classes above me. It helped me deal with bullies head taller than me, it helped me deal with jerks at night clubs. Definitely worth learning guys. If i could learn it and train it as a kid, so can you during your teenage or adult years, don't be p*ssy. It's for ur own good! If you like it, go for it!

Judo imo is way better than BJJ. BJJ is kind a “boring” and doesn’t require much athleticism. Judo, being faster, stronger, more explosive, having more endurance etc. makes you a more effective fighter provided you are learning the techniques. Nothing against BJJ though it is definitely beneficial but idk I think we can’t just rely on that. Judo will save your life on the streets.

I like learning the concept of jiu jitsu moves not just a technique, as technique will just explain one thing while concept will open the door to more possibilities. This is why I really liked the illustrative concept of a jack lifting up a car.
